The Front showed its readiness to resolve the border delineation issue through the political committee in the meeting of the joint task force of the three major political parties and the Front held in Singha Durbar today.
However, the Front has stressed on formulating a clear-cut terms of reference for the same.
The major political parties had brought a proposal of forming the high-level political committee for resolving the dispute over the state restructuring issue in three months.
Leaders participating in the meeting have said the talks were heading towards becoming fruitful as the Madhesi Front has expressed its conditional agreement to the proposal they have put forth.
As per the proposal, a team comprising experts will finalise the border delineation issue within three months and the recommendation of the team would be legitimised.
In the meeting, the Front was informed on behjalf the major parties on the discussions held at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar this morning and the progress made in that meeting.
Both sides have agreed to forge consensus before the meeting of the Legislature-Parliament on January 19.
One of the leaders of the Federal Socialist Forum Nepal, Dr Mangal Siddhi Manandhar, who participated in the meeting, said the talks were headed towards a positive direction with the differences between the major parties and the Front narrowing down. He added that both sides showed flexibility in the negotiations, expressing hope that an agreement would be reached soon.
Leader of the Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party, Ram Naresh Raya also said the talks were moving ahead on a positive direction.
Co-chairman of the Sadbhavana Party Laxman Lal Karna participated in the talks today. The party had been boycotting the task force meetings after the party chairman Rajendra Mahato was beaten during a sit-in the party staged at the Jogbani transit point in Biratnagar some two weeks back. RSS
