UCPNM delegation off to China

KATHMANDU, Aug 24: Twelve leaders and cadres of the Unified CPN (Maoist) left here for northern neighbour China late midnight on Saturday at the invitation of Communist Party of China. The delegation is led by party Foreign Department Chief, Ram Karki.



The visit is expected to help consolidate relations existing between the communist parties of both countries and mutual relations as well.



Party central members Renu Dahal, woman leader Bandana Subedi, youth leader Bishal Khadka, Chhabi Subedi, conflict victim Ganga Bahadur Lama, journalist Dhruba Adhikari, Manoj Chaudhary, Tika Kandangwa, Shiba Bahadur Basnet and Dhanmaya Chauhan are in the delegation, according to Department member Yubraj Chaulagai. The delegation is scheduled to reach Beijing via Guangzhou. The UCPN (Maoist) team will also visit Shaoshan in Hunan province where the Chinese Communist leader Mao Tse-tung was born.



The visit will focus on the study of CNP structures, party system and schooling. Prior to this, separate delegations of Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) visited China.
