Chairman of the UCPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal honored the winning cricketers by offering them letters of appreciation, shawl, garland and vermilion powder.
Honoring the players, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Dahal said the victory by the players has made all the Nepalese proud. He said the sports was the means to measure the national development and suggested the government for investing more in cricket.
"I, on behalf of the party, would like to suggest the government to increase investment in cricket," said Dahal.
He said the cricket match has been popular in the south Asian countries, adding the future of cricket has been seen brighter.
Dahal further said the current political transition could be resolved and the nation would lead to the prosperity if the political parties adopted the team spirit demonstrated in cricket.
During the programme, Minister for Peace and Reconstruction, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, stressed the need of developing the sports sector as public concern and rights.
Similarly, team captain of the Nepalese Cricket, Paras Khadka, said their matches would be developed further if they get necessary support from all. The honors with the victory could give further possibility to play World Cup and would add extra courage.
