DAMAULI, Oct 25: Nepali Congress vice-president Ram Chandra Paudel has charged the UCPN (Maoist) itself of being a hindrance to consensus.

Talking to journalists at Damauli of Tanahu district on Thursday, the Nepali Congress vice-president accused the UCPN (Maoist) chairman as being opposed to constitution, federalism and democracy.[break]

He said the UCPN (Maoist) could not be trusted as its chairman changes his words oftentimes.

The NC vice-president said that the Nepali Congress is for the formulation of a new constitution rather than focusing on power.

Poudel stressed that the need of the hour is to hold fresh election and that the way should be paved for amending the constitution and formulation of election-related Acts even for that purpose.
