Two leaders of outlawed Chand-led outfit arrested

KATHMANDU, July 15:  Central Committee member of the Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has been arrested by police from Kailali district on Wednesday morning.

KATHMANDU, July 15:  Central Committee member of the Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has been arrested by police from Kailali district on Wednesday morning.



A team of police from the Kailali District Police arrested Om Prakash Pun from Jholi area in the district. “We have also arrested his wife Purnima Dhami, who is also associated with the banned outfit. The arrested are being brought to the district headquarters,” a police officer at the Kailali District Police told Republica over the phone.

The government banned the outfit after it carried out two major bomb blasts in the capital, and was involved in a number of criminal activities outside the Kathmandu Valley.


Since the government banned the outfit, Nepal Police have arrested more than 1,300 cadres of the party from different parts of the country.
