KAMALAMAI, Aug 1: Two people died and three others were injured when a tree fell on a makeshift shelter in Bastipur, Hariharpurgadhi Rural Municipality–1 of Sindhuli district on Friday noon. The incident occurred after continuous rainfall triggered a landslide, causing a tree to collapse onto the shelter.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Suryaprakash Subedi of the District Police Office, Sarki Thing, 9, and Shanta Gole, 16, who were taking refuge in the shelter, died on the spot.

Meanwhile, Sirjana Maya, 14, Sandhya Bholen, 15, and Sushil Thing, 7, sustained injuries. All three have been referred to Hetauda Hospital for further treatment, police said.
