Two killed, one injured due to electric shock in Morang

The victims have been identified as Ramu Devi Gangai,70, and Surya Devi Gangai,73, who were participating in singing and dancing at the event when the incident took place.

KATHMANDU, May 14: Two women died due to electric shock in Morang.


The incident occurred last night at a wedding house in Ratuwamai Municipality–3. The victims have been identified as Ramu Devi Gangai,70, and Surya Devi Gangai,73, who were participating in singing and dancing at the event when the incident took place.

According to the police, three people received electric shocks during a wedding celebration. Among them, two women died, while 30-year-old local resident Radha Kumari Singh sustained minor injuries.


A green bamboo pole had been erected near a high-tension electric line to set up a microphone at the wedding venue. Around 8 pm, strong winds caused the bamboo pole to fall and come into contact with the high-tension line, leading to the tragic incident.
