SAPTARI, June 22: Two motorcycles collided on the inner road section near the embankment leading to Bhaluwa in Hanuman Nagar Kangalini Municipality-1 on Sunday, resulting in the deaths of both riders and injuring one person.
A motorcycle (with registration KO 10 P 562), traveling from Kankalini Temple toward Bhaluwa, collided head-on with another motorcycle (BA 55 P 6639), coming from the opposite direction, causing the deaths of both drivers.
One killed in Saptari in van-motorcycle collision
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhav Prasad Kafle of Area Police Office Kanchanpur, the rider of motorcycle (BA 55 P 6639) was Avinash Mandal, 19, from Rajpur, Shambhunath Municipality-11, Saptari, and the rider of motorcycle (KO 10 P 562) Omprakash Panjiyar, 34, from Bairwa, Kanchanrup Municipality-1.
Mandal died while undergoing treatment at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj, while Panjiyar passed away during treatment at Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar, police said.
Also, Subash Mahato, 30, a passenger on the motorcycle (Ko 10 P 562) from Kanchanpur-1, was injured. He was treated and sent home. The District Police Office, Saptari stated that further investigation into the accident is ongoing.
