At an interaction organized by Ganesh Man Singh Academy in Kathmadu, Acharya, who is also an NC leader, said, “A government with limited time and purpose would help address the concerns of all the political parties. The fear among the political parties that the new government would prolong its life indefinitely has become a major obstacle to political consensus.”[break]
Speaking at the same function, NC leader Pradip Giri said that if political parties fail to pick a consensus prime minister within the deadline given by the president, the president should form a new government to resolve the crisis.
“As long as the political parties continue to fight for totalitarian and democratic systems, political instability will continue to plague the country,” he said.
Constitutional expert Bhimarjun Acharya said that if the parties fail to come up with a consensus prime ministerial candidate within the deadline, the president should step forward to nominate a prime ministerial candidate.
