Talking to Republica Online, she has also claimed that TRC Chairman Surya Kiran Gurunug has said he will not give any responsibility to her in the future.
“In today’s meeting of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, I demanded that as the process and decision of 42nd TRC meeting last Thursday were erroneous, we should discuss the meeting process and move forward only after discussing how we can make the Commission transparent and effective,” she told Republica Online, “But TRC chairman Surya Kiran Gurung responded in a wild manner, saying he will not give me any responsibility in the future.”
“Then I told him that the Act hasn’t given such special rights to the Chairman. Then he said ‘if that is the case, then the Commission will not give you any responsibility’”.

According to Bhatta, the 42nd meeting of the TRC decided that only the Chairman of the Commission could talk to the media and if any member wanted to talk to the media then s/he would have to talk to the Chairman first. “This is not a fair decision. On top of that the agenda of the meeting was ‘local construction’ but nobody discussed this agenda and ultimately it was decided that only the Chairman could talk to the media,” she told Republica Online.
Dr Bhatta further said, the decision of the 42nd meeting indirectly ended my role as the spokesperson. However, no reason was furnished as to why I had been removed from the position of spokesperson.
Dr Bhatta also doubts if the current TRC can give justice to the victims of the cases of gross human rights violation that took place during the decade long armed conflict in the country.
“Can such a commission give justice to the victims? Can it recommend for action against the perpetrators? Where did the TRC Chairman got the courage from to say that he will not give any responsibility to a TRC member,” asks Bhatta.
"I have been feeling security threat for the past few days," she said.
