Transport strike in Bheri, Karnali to protest inhuman act

SURKHET, Sept 15: All Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs Association called indefinite transport strike in Bheri and Karnali zones from Wednesday.



The association called the strike to protest against the locals, who have been reported to have been thrashed and thrown a bus driver Okil Budhathoki into Bheri River, after a three-year-old girl was killed in a road accident.



The association has demanded to publicize the driver´s condition. Budhathoki´s condition has been reported to be unknown after the incident.



Following the transport strike, all the vehicles and passengers left for long and short distances have been stranded at Birendranagar, Chinchu, and Kohalpur area.



Three-year-old Indira BC was killed on the spot when she was knocked by a bus (Na 3 Kha 6651) at Rakam VDC-2 of Surkhet district on Sunday.



Kin of the deceased refused to receive the body demanding a million rupees as per compensation.
