TIA stops issuing visitor passes for International Terminal

KATHMANDU, Aug 12: Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) administration has announced it will no longer issue visitor passes for entry into the international terminal building.



According to a notice issued by the airport office of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), the distribution of visitor passes was halted starting Tuesday. The notice stated that facilities remain in place to assist elderly passengers, persons with disabilities, pregnant women, and minors through a dedicated help desk. Passengers requiring special assistance, such as wheelchairs, will be facilitated with the help of respective airlines.

The airport also reminded passengers that the number of checked-in baggage and maximum weight limits are specified on air tickets and urged travelers to comply with these rules. With this decision, friends and relatives of passengers will no longer be able to enter the terminal building with a visitor pass.


Previously, the TIA administration had been distributing visitor passes through the International Terminal Duty Office.
