Three-year-old girl killed in fire accident

The police have stated that the exact cause of the fire, its origin, and the extent of the damage have not yet been determined. Further investigations into the incident are underway.

KATHMANDU, March 18: A girl died in a fire that broke out in Dhanpalthan Rural Municipality of Morang on Tuesday afternoon.


According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ved Prakash Joshi, the spokesperson for the Morang Police, 3-year-old Reshma Khatun, the daughter of Mohammad Hanif from the Muslim settlement in Kadmaha, Dhanpalthan Rural Municipality-7, died in the fire. The fire, which started around 12 pm, led to Khatun's tragic death.

Initially two children, a boy and a girl, were missing. The boy has been found and his condition is said to be stable. 


Similarly, police, Nepali Army, and locals were deployed with the help of fire engines to control the raging flame. DSP Joshi stated that around 17 houses and sheds of 12 families were destroyed. The intense heat and strong winds made it difficult to bring the fire under control.
