Teenager killed after police open fire in Rautahat

RAUTAHAT, Dec 20: A schoolboy was killed as police opened fire during protest by United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) in Gaur on Sunday.

18-year-old Tavrej Alam was killed after police fired at protesters hurling stones and glass bottles at the law enforcement agency.

Alam was rushed to Rautahat District Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

Medical Superintendent Dr Krishna Sha said Alam died due to bullet injuries in kidney and private parts.

He was a tenth grader at Juddha High School and was participating in the protest with his mother Seikh Omesh since early morning.
