Following a rigorous discussion on Sunday, leaders from the major three parties and the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) had claimed that they had narrowed down the disputes and there would be a positive turn on settling disputes including on provincial delineations.
"We waited for almost two and a half hours on Monday afternoon as we had concluded Sunday's meeting with an agreement to meet at 2 pm on Monday," said Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) Co-Chairman Rajendra Shrestha.
Shrestha said he has not taken the postponement negatively as he is mindful of the busy schedules of the leaders of the three parties.
In its Sunday meeting, the taskforce had discussed possible terms of reference for the proposed high-level political committee for end the issue of provincial delineations within the next three months.
The taskforce, formed two weeks ago, comprises of Deputy Prime Minister and CPN-UML Vice Chairman Bhim Rawal, UCPN (Maoist) leader and Home Minister Shakti Basnet, Nepali Congress leader Mahesh Acharya, Tarai Madhes Democratic Party Vice Chairman Hridayash Tripathi, FSFN Co-Chairman Shrestha and Tarai Madhes Sadbhavana Party senior leader Ram Naresh Raya.
