Tara air crash victims' bodies to be brought on Thursday

POKHARA, Feb 24: The bodies of those people killed in a crash of Tara Airlines aircraft at Solighopte of Dana Village Development Committee in Myagdi this morning are to be brought here only tomorrow.

Bad weather hampered the efforts for bringing in the bodies today, according to Pokhara Airport Office Chief Deepak Baral. The crash site lies in the remotest geographical location and the rescue teams are finding it very hard to gather the bodies as they remain scattered on the cliff face.The relatives of the dead have gathered in the Pokhara Airport since the news about the missing of the aircraft this morning to take the updates of their dear ones.

A total of 23 people including three members were on board the aircraft. The bodies of only 19 victims have been recovered.

Meanwhile, a report from Myagdi stated that the search for the missing bodies and the collection of recovered ones have been suspended due to bad weather and nightfall, it is learnt. RSS
