KATHMANDU, April 28: Talks have begun between the government and the agitating Nepal Teachers' Federation.
A delegation from the Teachers' Association has reached the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in Singha Durbar.
Earlier, the Teachers’ Association had snubbed the government’s call for talks. The agitating teachers of public schools took to the streets in Kathmandu for the 28th consecutive day on Tuesday demanding enactment of a new Education Act that addresses their demands.

Officials said a delegation of Teachers' Association reached Singha Durbar to hold talks at 8 PM after holding internal discussions with the agitating teachers. The talks today are expected to yield a breakthrough, as the two sides have been quietly working on a draft agreement for the past few days.
