Two of the three arrested by the police on Friday have been identified as Lakpa Tamang of Langtang-8 and Chyangba Tamang of Saramthali-8. The identity of the third suspect is yet to be ascertained.

Jagat and Pemba have also claimed that Aubrey was murdered shortly after she went missing. Aubrey, then just 23, was alone on a trek to Langtang. Aubrey last contacted her parents through an email on April 20 before trekking toward Langtang from Syafrubensi of Rasuwa. She had reached Syafrubensi on April 10. She was expected to return to Syafru on April 30. As she did not return from Langtang, her parents had started searching for her frantically.

As their efforts to trace their missing daughter went in vein, Aubrey´s parents had announced a prize of $25,000 to anyone who could tell them about their daughter´s whereabouts.

According to the police, Jagat and Pemba have disclosed that they followed Aubrey right from Syafrubensi. They whisked her away in Langtang-1 and murdered her. Her dead body, passport and other documents were thrown into the Langtang River. They looted a camera and some cash from her.

Jagat and Pemba have also told the police that Lakpa masterminded the kidnapping and murder of Aubrey. Most of the suspects arrested in the case are involved in tourism business.
