KATHMANDU, April 28: In a historic achievement for Nepali music, singer-songwriter Sushant KC has officially become the first Nepali artist to be featured on the main channel of T-Series, India's largest music label and YouTube channel. His latest Hindi single "UFF," a remake of his hit Nepali song "Bardali," was released on T-Series' main platform on Monday.
Previously, Nepali artists had only been featured on regional channels under the T-Series banner. KC's breakthrough marks a significant milestone, positioning Nepali music on one of the world’s most prominent music stages.

The song "UFF" is the Hindi version of KC's popular Nepali track "Bardali," originally released in late 2024. "Bardali," meaning "balcony" in Nepali, evokes emotions of longing and romantic anticipation, centering around the theme of waiting for a beloved to appear. The original Nepali version became a massive hit, particularly gaining traction on TikTok and other social media platforms for its catchy melody and heartfelt lyrics.
The Hindi adaptation retains the emotional core of the original, with KC and Indra Kala Rai lending their voices. The lyrics, simple yet evocative, depict the intense excitement and yearning for a lover's glimpse, emphasized through the recurring line, "Uff! Maaryo ni maya le" ("Oh! Love has struck me"). Musically, "UFF" blends pop sensibilities with traditional Nepali melodic influences, arranged by KC and Kobid Bajracharya, creating a vibrant and engaging soundscape that appeals to a broad audience.
This milestone follows another major highlight in KC’s career: his performance at the iconic Palladium Hall in Times Square, New York, on July 20, 2024. It was the first time a Nepali artist had headlined at the prestigious venue, further establishing his reputation as a global ambassador for Nepali music.
