Sujata announces candidacy for NC president

KATHMANDU, March 2: Sujata Koirala has declared her candidacy for the post of Nepali Congress (NC) President. With Sujata's declaration, there are likely to be four presidential candidates in the party along with Sher Bahadur Deuba, Ram Chandra Paudel and Krishna Prasad Sitaula.

Koirala made the announcement organizing a press meet at her residence in Mandikatar on Wednesday.Sujata who is the only daughter of late Girija Prasad Koirala, claimed that her candidacy is not a bargaining tool but a move to lead the party. She accused acting president Ram Chandra Paudel of undermining the women in the party.

She also claimed that she has the support of a majority members of the establishment faction.
