KATHMANDU, Oct 3: Sudan Gurung, founder of Hami Nepal, has declared that the initiative will now be set apart from the Gen-Z movement. In a Facebook video statement on Thursday, Gurung said steps are being taken to clearly separate the two identities.
Emphasizing that Hami Nepal is not a formal organization, Gurung maintained that it has consistently carried out meaningful work.
'Hami Nepali, Hamro Nepal' launched
“Raising our voice against social ills, irregularities, and corruption is not something new—we’ve been doing it from the start,” Gurung said. “Moving forward, we will detach Hami Nepal from Gen-Z and dedicate ourselves exclusively to social work.”
He further announced that another video would be released on Friday to clarify funding matters, including support linked to the Barbara Foundation.
Gurung, who has long claimed leadership of the Gen-Z movement, continues to face criticism from some Gen-Z activists, who accuse him of hijacking the campaign.
