Flights were disrupted after Iran launched attacks targeting Qatar. With Qatar’s airspace now reopened, TIA officials said passengers from the canceled flights have started departing. The rescheduled flights began operating from noon Tuesday.

TIA General Manager Jagannath Niraula confirmed that both Nepal Airlines and Himalayan Airlines had canceled their Doha flights on Monday night. Hundreds of outbound migrant workers were left stranded. A return flight from Doha to Kathmandu scheduled for 8 AM today was also canceled by Qatar, he added.

According to Nepal Airlines spokesperson Subash Dangi, Monday night’s canceled Doha flight had 269 passengers. Preparations for their departure have now been completed. Officials have warned of potential delays in upcoming Gulf flights due to lingering instability in the region.

The attack alert had forced authorities to cancel flights even after passengers had boarded. Over 30 international carriers, including three from Nepal, operate out of Kathmandu.
