NSC bids farewell to swimmers
KATHMANDU: National Sports Council (NSC) and Nepal Swimming Association (NSA) on Monday bade farewell to the Nepali team participating in the 9th Asian Swimming Championship in Dubai, UAE between November 15 to 19. An eight-member Nepali team, including four swimmers, will fly to Dubai on Wednesday. Multiple national record holder Shishir Gurung is to participate in 200m, 400m and 1500m freestyle events in the championship while Miraj Prajapati will compete in 100m and 50m backstroke events of male section.
Likewise, Shreya Dhital will vie in women´s 100m and 50 m freestyle as well as 50m butterfly. Her sister Aditi will also compete in 50m and 100m freestyle. Rabin Kumar Paudel is the coach in the Nepali team while Najiruddin Muslim is the team manager. Meanwhile, NSA President Ashok Bajracharya and member Yuvaraj Sunuwar will fly to Dubai to participate in the general assembly of Asian Swimming Federation. NSC Member Secretary Yuvaraj Lama and NSA officials bade farewell to the Nepali team on Monday amidst a program in the capital.
