Mehaboob Alam scored quick fire 29 runs off just 20 balls with two huge sixes and as many boundaries. Opener Paresh Lohani scored 19 runs off 23 balls. Chasing the total of 124 runs, Nepal red could manage to score only 118 runs in 20 overs for the loss of seven wickets.
Prithu Baskota scored 26 runs off 31 balls while Anil Mandal and Naresh Budhayer scored 20 runs each. Basanta Regmi grabbed two wickets while Jatta Shankar Sharraf took a wicket. Four of Nepal Red´s batsmen were short to the crease.
KCMIT lifts BBA Cup title
KATHMANDU: Kathmandu College of Management and Information Technology (KCMIT) lifted the Sixth Shanker Dev BBA Cup Football Tournament on Friday defeating the defending champion Shankar Dev 1-0. Manish Khadka scored the decider in the 51st minute of the game. With the win KCMIT has received the opportunity to host the seventh edition of the tournament.
Rupak Aryal of Prime College received best striker award while best midfielder award went to Sumin Kumar Bhattarai of KCMIT who was also adjusted player of the tournament. Raj Kumar Bhattarai and Bidur Kunwar of Shankar Dev Campus received best defender and best goalkeeper awards. Janapriya Multiple Campus was awarded for fair play.
