Rinji Sherpa of the same school bagged the second position with 7.21 points while Bishwa Budhamagar finished third with 7.06 points.[break]
In girls´ same event, Sushmita Tamang of Bal Bikash took the first position with 7.26 points while Mina Glan of Jaljala and Roshani Shrestha of Pranidhi claimed the second and third spots with 6.53 and 6.20 points, respectively.
Bishal Magar won the second gold for New Buddha in boys´ nanchuwan scoring 7.38 points. Yukesh Tamang of Demos with 7.08 points and Ashok Budhamagar of Jaljala with 6.86 points bagged silver and bronze medals respectively at the Dasharath Stadium covered hall.
In boys´ 33 kg sansau, Pujan Bhandari of Glacier Public, Som Tamang of New Buddha Prakash, Prakash Gupta of Kanchenjunga, Rijan Pariyar of Jaljala, Manish Lama of Elite, Sudip Rajbanshi and Bivek Lama of Bal Bikash and Shishir Acharya of Pranidhi made it through to the quarterfinals winning their respective matches.
Likewise, Hemanta Maharjan of Kanchenjunga, Sandesh Tamang of Suparwa Catholic, Manish Tamang of New Buddha Prakash, Parmeshwar Sapkota of Pranidhi and Sandesh Tamang of Galaxy Public booked quarterfinal berths in boys´ 36 kg.
In total, 150 players in sansau and 170 players in thaulo are participating in the three-day tournament organized by Workers Martyrs Memorial Club. Both boys´ and girls´ thaulo feature 11 categories whereas eight categories each are included in sansau.
Blind Cricketers awarded
Cricket Association of the Blind, Nepal (CABN) awarded visually impaired cricketers on Wednesday amid a function in the capital with the cricketer of the year awards.
Lalu Maya Bhujel of Kaski was adjudged the best woman cricketer in B1 category. She had scored 222 runs last year. Likewise, Mana Keshari Chaudhary from Chitwan won the award in B2 category as she scored 367 runs and 20 wickets last year in various tournaments. Smriti Budha Magar (Nepalgunj) and Bhagawati Bhattarai (Kaski) received the award in women´s B3 category. Magar had scored 87 runs and claimed 13 wickets while Bhattarai had struck 70 runs and took 17 wickets last year.
Meanwhile, Bikram Bahadur Rana (Kathmandu), Jaya Sagar Giri (Kathmandu) and Shankar Regmi (Lumbini) clinched the awards of B1, B2 and B3 categories respectively in men´s section. Rana scored 70 runs and took five wickets last year, when Regmi hit 113 runs and claimed four wickets in the same period. Regmi scored 203 runs last year and took two wickets.

Total blind and two categories of partially blind are included in a blind cricket team. Total blind are called B1 while partially blind, who can see less than five meters, are called B2. Partially blind, who can see less than 20 meters are called B3. A blind cricket team consists of four B1, 3 B2 and 4 B3 players.
Shrestha, Chhetri win road race
Raju Shrestha of Amar School, Tokha and Sharmila Chhetri of Gladstone won the title of the Valley-wide School Level Road Race on Wednesday respectively in boys´ and girls´ categories. Shrestha clocked 17 minutes 51.3 seconds to complete the 5-km race organized by Ministry of Education to mark National Education Day and International Literacy Day. Dipesh Somai of Saraswati Niketan and Buddha Ghising of Gyanodaya claimed second and third positions, respectively. Likewise, Chhetri completed 3 km in 11 minutes 55.43 seconds to claim first position in girls´ section while Binika Joshi and Lalita Tamang finished second and third.
AIA, Rose Bud reach last 16
Hosts Awareness International Academy (AIA) and Rose Bud reached the last 16 of the junior boys´ category of the First AIA Inter-school Basketball Tournament on Wednesday. Likewise, New Shrine, Gyan Niketan, Daffodil, Green Land, Innovative, Angels´ Heart, Brihaspati, Himalayan Help Care Academy (HHCA), Valley Public, Neric, Golden Peak, Kathmandu English, Babylon and Unique also entered the pre-quarterfinal round in the junior boys´ section. Likewise, Rose Bud, Daffodil, HHCA, Mahendra Bhawan, Angels´ Heart, New Summit, GEMS and Valley Public secured quarterfinal berths in girls´ category.
