Speaker Ghimire to visit Uzbekistan for IPU’'s 150th General Assembly

Speaker Devrraj Ghimire is set to visit Uzbekistan to participate in the 150th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

KATHMANDU, March 23: Speaker Devrraj Ghimire is set to visit Uzbekistan to participate in the 150th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).


A nine-member delegation led by the Speaker will leave for Uzbekistan on April 2 and the team will return to Nepal on April 14. The delegation includes one member from each of the four major political parties: Anjan Shakya from the CPN-UML, Chief Whip Shyam Ghimire from the Nepali Congress, MP Surya Man Dong from the Maoist Center, and MP Sobita Gautam from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

The delegation will also include Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat Padma Prasad Pandey, Secretary of the House of Representatives Harka Rai, Deputy Secretary of the International Relations Division (IRD) Raju Rimali, and personal secretary of the SpeakerTej Prakash Bhattarai.
