Tulsi Maharjan is a 48-year-old soda seller form Makkhan Tole, Kathamandu. She has been doing this work since almost nine years. She was married 10 years ago. Her husband has been selling soda since 23 years and that is why she joined him after her marriage.
Tulsi has always been an independent woman as she used to sell leather products like belts and purses before getting married. She has no kids of her own but has two sons and a daughter from her husband's first wife whom she claims to be her own. The soda she sells is produced by her husband in their own factory.
A love for soda
"Since no work provides you the privilege to sit and earn, you have to give your effort in every sector. But what makes me happy is that I do not have to depend upon someone else for money," she says.
