Condemning the incident, Deuba said, “The incident cannot be taken as an outcome of public frustration against leaders just because a short-tempered person resorted to slapping." [break]
A man named Padam Kumar Kunwar had slapped Dahal at a tea reception organized by his party in the capital on Friday.
Speaking at press conference here, Deuba urged not to describe incidents of attacks on top leaders including NC President Sushil Koirala and CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal as an outcome of public rage as those incidents happened just because of some people´s individual frustration.
In a separate context, Deuba claimed that the opposition parties’ proposed street protests would be successful to unseat Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai from his post.
Accusing the UCPN Maoist of being a stumbling block in forging national consensus, he ruled out any possibility of bringing in the new budget without consensus among the political parties.
Will Smith would face little more than a slap if charged
