Six new patients test positive for COVID-19: Health ministry

KATHMANDU, May 25: The COVID-19 infection toll in Nepal has reached 682 as six new patients tested positive for the deadly virus, the Ministry of Health and Population confirmed.


According to the ministry, new patients are from Accham, Bardiya and Parsa districts.


“Of the six patients, one is from Accham, three from Bardiya and two are from Parsa district,” Dr Bikash Devkota, spokesperson for the health ministry informed the media through a virtual press briefing.

Likewise, 25 new patients were discharged from different hospitals on Monday after recovery. With this, the total number of COVID-19 recovery tally stands at 112, according to the Health Ministry.


Similarly, the ministry also confirmed the fourth death in Nepal due to coronavirus. A 70-year-old patient had died at the  National Medical College in Birgunj on May 17.


Likewise, the ministry also informed the media that a PCR machine has been installed at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) on Sunday. The total number of PCR machines installed at different hospitals across the country stands at 20, the ministry said.
