The 100-day shopping scheme offers bumper prizes such as Anna Lifan car for one, Baja DTS 180 cc, Baja Pulsar and Yamaha motorcycles, digital cameras, and various home appliances. Likewise, the UWTC is also offering three laptops, three 29-inch televisions, six 21-inch televisions and other and other electricals as prizes.

The scheme features over 1,864 gift hampers that will be given out through a lucky draw. Buyers will get coupons on the purchase of goods worth Rs 500 or above from the shops at UWTC. Lucky draw will be organized at the end of every month. The lucky draw for Lifan car costing Rs 1,625,000 however will be organized at the end of the shopping scheme.
“There are high chances that many will get the gift hampers through this offer” added Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, President of Nepal China Chamber of Commerce at a press meet organized in Friday.
According to Sakuntalal Hirachan, the main aim of this longest shopping scheme is to offer quality products at reasonable prices to customers.
Carpet Mega Sale begins
KATHMANDU, Sept 18: The third Carpet Mega Sale 2009 began at United World Trade Center, Tripureshwar, on Friday. Organized by Direction Nepal Pvt Ltd, the mega sale has around 11 carpet manufacturers and exporters selling Nepali carpets at discounted rates. The mega sale features carpets of varied designs costing Rs 500 to Rs 150,000.

According to Ramesh Thapa, the event coordinator, the sale aims to bring various carpets under a single roof to promote Nepali carpet industry as a whole. Each individual exhibitor has kept fixed and competitive rates looking for different potential buyers.
“We have expected a turnover of around Rs 1 crore from the mega sale,” added Trilokeshwar Malla, Managing Director of Direction Nepal. Direction Nepal expects around 20,000 people to visit the event. The sale lasts till September 25.
