Hollywood studio-Warner Bros has announced that the sequel of Denis Villeneuve directed film has kicked off.

Warner bros and Legendary Entertainment shared the news in a statement with a post on their official website along with the released plotline of the sequel.


The plotline reads, “"This follow-up film will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee."


The sequel will reunite original Dune cast members Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista and Stellan Skarsgard. The cast will be joined by newcomers who include Austin Butler, Christopher Walken, Florence Pugh and Lea Seydoux.


The sequel is said to hit the theaters on November 17, 2023.
