KATHMANDU, Feb 20: Shree Hari Aryal renounced his title as senior advocate after Justices Bal Ram KC and Krishna Prasad Upadhyay accused him of trying to obstruct judicial procedure in course of the hearing on corruption case against the Nepali Congress leader Chiranjivi Wagle.

Aryal submitted his certificate of senior advocate to Chief Justice Ram Prasad Shrestha and resigned from the membership of the Supreme Court Bar Association, saying that the justices questioned his integrity.

“Though I have been fighting for judicial independence for long, I have been accused of obstructing justice,” said Aryal, who is also general secretary of Transparency International.
