During a meeting between Koirala and Nepal at the former´s residence at Maharajgunj in the evening, Koirala, however, said that there cannot be any parliamentary debate on the Maoists´ resolution motion against the president´s move in the army chief row.
According to NC leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula, who was present in the meeting, Koirala asked the prime minister to find an alternative to address the Maoist concerns. Koirala stressed the need to bring all parties including the Maoists to consensus to take the peace process to a logical end and draft the constitution on time.
He suggested the prime minister to come up with the alternative ways to end the House deadlock after holding discussion with other parties.
On Wednesday, three major parties -- NC, UML and UCPN-Maoist -- had agreed to find an alternative to resolve the deadlock. One of the options they suggested was finding a common resolution motion acceptable to all the three parties.
On Thursday, Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had said that the Maoists were ready to withdraw House obstruction if the constitution was amended to make clear the jurisdiction of the president.
The PM met Koirala two days before he leaves for New York to attend the 64th UN General Assembly meeting.. Koirala asked the prime minister to help maintain Nepal´s image in the international community during his New York trip.
