SC suspends hearings today to mourn death of Sharada Shrestha

The Supreme Court has decided to suspend all hearings scheduled for today to mourn the passing of Sharada Shrestha, Nepal's first female judge and the second woman to reach the Supreme Court.

KATHMANDU, March 2: The Supreme Court has decided to suspend all hearings scheduled for today to mourn the passing of Sharada Shrestha, Nepal's first female judge and the second woman to reach the Supreme Court.


Supreme Court's Information Officer Nirajan Pandey announced that the Supreme Court will not hold any hearings on Sunday.

Sharada Shrestha, the first female judge, passed away on Friday at the age of 84. The Supreme Court appointed her as a justice on April 15, 2004. She retired on June 2, 2008.
