SC registers UML’s petition, hearing set for December 3

KATHMANDU, Nov 26: The Supreme Court (SC) has registered the writ petition filed by the CPN-UML against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR). The hearing for the petition registered on Wednesday has been scheduled for December 3.



UML had submitted the writ on Tuesday, demanding the reinstatement of the House, arguing that it was dissolved “unconstitutionally.”

The petition also claims that the appointment of Sushila Karki as Prime Minister is unconstitutional, stating that the Constitution bars the appointment of a “prohibited” individual. The UML has demanded that her appointment be invalidated and removed from the official record.
