SC issues show cause notice to govt on TIA management handover row

KATHMANDU, July 8: The Supreme Court has issued on Sunday a show cause notice on the government decision to hand over the upgradation, improvement and management of the Tribhuwan International Airport to an Indian company without any tender.



The single bench of Justice Bharat Raj Upreti issued the notice in the name of prime minister and council of ministers and summoned both sides for discussion whether or not to issue interim order.[break]



Advocates Sriprasad Pandit, Krishna Prasad Bhattarai and Bhupal Basnet had filed the writ on Wednesday demanding that the decision to hand over the management to Indian company IL and FS in breach of the country´s laws and against the national interest, be scrapped.
