A single bench of SC Justice Sushila Karki asked the defendants to furnish the clarification till March 5, in response to a writ petition filed arguing that four major parties’ decision was against the spirit of Interim Constitution and would encroach on the independence of judiciary.[break]
Advocate Bharat Mani Jangam had filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court (SC) on last Sunday challenging the decision of four major parties --UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-UML and United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) -- to form such a government.
According to today’s order, the final verdict on the petition will be issued following a hearing on March 7 in a special bench after the defendants furnish their written clarification.
