Chaudhary had sought permission to run in the upcoming March 5 election to the House of Representatives from Kailali-1. He had registered a writ petition at the SC against the decision of the election officer of Kailali-1, who had invalidated his candidacy.

The Supreme Court, in its order, said, "Since the interpretation of the constitutional and legal provisions will be made during the final hearing of the writ petition, the Court finds no sufficient grounds to issue an interim order at this stage.

The apex court of the country thus directed that the case be proceeded to the final hearing.
