KATHMANDU, June 11: Sabina Maskey has been appointed as the Acting Managing Director (MD) of Nepal Telecom.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, in a meeting held on Wednesday, appointed Maskey as the Acting Managing Director of the company. Previously, Maskey served as the Deputy Managing Director. Nepal Telecom spokesperson Rabindra Manandhar said that Maskey took charge of the Acting Managing Director’s responsibilities from Wednesday.

The position had been vacant after the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed a corruption case last Sunday against Managing Director Sangita Pahadi, former Managing Director Sunil Paudel, and 16 others over allegations of corruption in telecom billing.
Upon assuming office, the newly appointed Acting Managing Director Maskey expressed her commitment to fulfilling the responsibility entrusted to her by the Government of Nepal and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology with the support and cooperation of all.
