KATHMANDU, Oct 19: Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, has been taken to Pokhara following his arrest in Kathmandu.
According to the police, Lamichhane was transported to Pokhara by road for investigation into charges of cooperative fraud and organized crime related to the Suryadarshan Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Limited in Pokhara.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested Lamichhane from Kathmandu on Friday evening.
RSP Chairman Lamichhane will be investigated on four charges including cooperative fraud and organized crime.
The CIB and the Valley Police Investigation Office jointly arrested Lamichhane at the request of the Kaski District Police.
According to police, Lamichhane was taken to the District Police Office Kaski around 3:00 AM after a health check-up at the Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences. Lamichhane will be produced before the court only tomorrow as today is a public holiday.
