RPP’s Shahi asks PM Oli to welcome former king

If the Prime Minister can welcome the King of Qatar, why can't he welcome the King of Nepal? The king is a symbol for all, including the Prime Minister and the President.

KATHMANDU, March 9: Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chief Whip Gyanendra Shahi has urged Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to go to the airport and welcome former King Gyanendra Shah.


On Sunday, Shahi made this request to PM Oli through social media, asking why the King of Qatar should be welcomed but not the King of Nepal.

He wrote, “I sincerely appeal and request the Honorable Prime Minister to go to Kathmandu Airport today and welcome the king. If the Prime Minister can welcome the King of Qatar, why can't he welcome the King of Nepal? The king is a symbol for all, including the Prime Minister and the President.”


Shahi has warned the government not to try to restrict the people's wishes and aspirations.
