RPP new chairman Thapa assumes office

KATHMANDU, Aug 2: Newly elected Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Surya Bahadur Thapa has assumed his office on Friday.



He assumed his office amidst a special programme organised by the party here on Saturday. On the occasion, he urged the supporters of the 11-point agreement to be serious towards settling the existing constitutional and political problems facing the country. [break]



Chairman Thapa also urged the political parties in the High-Level Political Committee to be sensitive towards convincing the opposing parties to take part in second Constituent Assembly election and completing the task of electoral constituency delineation.



Stating that activities of the election government and Election Commission are motivating, he said his party has taken the November 19 CA election as ´challenge´ and ´opportunity´.



Similarly, newly elected party central members including Kiran Giri, Indra Prasad Dhungel, Thakur Prasad Sharma, Shibaran Thapa, Baburam Basnet and Bhim Prasad Gauchan were sworn-in by party Chairman Thapa.
