According to Rohit´s elder brother Rabindra, the star defender of the country signed a new contract with HAL on Friday. [break]
Chand had played for HAL in the last edition of the I-League but didn´t return India after joining the national squad for FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in July 2011.
Some English websites had linked Chand to Arsenal and Tottenham but his dream of playing for Premier League Club ended in rumors.
According to Rabindra, Rohit will get IRs 94,000 per month. “Rohit was in Banglore for the last three days and the club completed all the paper works today (on Friday),” said Rabindra. “Rohit has signed a six-month contract with HAL and he is happy to rejoin the club,” he added.
HAL is struggling in I-League this year and is yet to taste victory in 11 matches.
“Rohit was saying that he wants to help the club clinch victories in the remaining matches and to pull it out of relegation zone,” said Rabindra.
According to GoalNepal.com, the club is happy to re-sign the Nepali star. "We have signed him for the remaining matches of the I-League", GoalNepal quoted Chief Operation Officer of HAL, Rajan. "We are happy to welcome him again in Bangalore.”
