KATHMANDU, April 15: Rakshya Bam, coordinator of Nepal Gen Z Front, has questioned Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s silence in Parliament, expressing dissatisfaction over his failure to speak throughout the first session.
Taking to social media on Wednesday, Bam wrote, “From the first session of Parliament until today, we have not heard the voice of the Prime Minister. Even after winning the election, you should have addressed the people to thank them. Accepting this change and addressing the public was your responsibility. But you ended the session without speaking in Parliament.”
She also drew attention to the gap between the prime minister’s personal working style and democratic practice. Stressing that addressing the nation through Parliament is a duty, she wrote, “We want to hear your voice. ‘Less talk, more work’ may be your personal belief, but addressing the nation through Parliament is also your responsibility. In a democratic system, governance should be guided by democratic values and practices, not merely by a leader’s personal style. People need not only technical solutions to their problems but also psychological reassurance from leadership.”
Bam urged the prime minister to correct his approach, saying leadership requires both practical solutions and emotional support for citizens.

Warning the prime minister against considering himself above limits, she added, “If you intend to govern based solely on your personal style, you should reconsider from the very beginning. The democratic opportunity provided by the recent general elections cannot be effectively utilized with a narrow mindset and limited approach.”
She further wrote, “You may be capable and strong. But you must not forget that, as an individual, you are also limited. Do not repeat the mistake of past leaders who considered themselves limitless.”
The current session of both houses began on April 2. President Ramchandra Paudel decided to end the ongoing session of the Federal Parliament from midnight last Friday.
