KATHMANDU, Dec 19: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane is set to be released from custody later today as authorities move to complete the remaining legal formalities in Butwal.
Arrangements are underway to ensure his release is completed within the day as he will remain in custody even on Saturday due to the weekly holiday if the formalities are not completed. A RSP leader said that all paperwork has been finalized and Lamichhane will be freed after reaching Butwal and signing the required documents this evening.

Lamichhane had left Kathmandu early Friday morning to travel to Bhairahawa by air to complete the release process. However, due to poor visibility caused by fog, he was diverted to Bharatpur. From there, he is heading to Rupandehi by road.
On Thursday, the Butwal bench of the High Court, Tulsipur, ordered Lamichhane’s release on bail equivalent to the claimed amount, paving the way for his release from custody.
