KATHMANDU, Jan 22: Rabi Lamichhane, the chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has appeared before the Rupandehi District Court on Wednesday.
A case was registered against Lamichhane on the charge of misappropriation of funds from the Butwal-based Supreme Cooperative. He flew from Kathmandu to Bhairahawa on Tuesday evening along with some lawyers.

Lamichhane’s case is set to be heard by Bench Number 5. The case was assigned to Judge Prahlad Kumar Yogi following a lottery process held this morning. Lamichhane, along with his wife Nikita and some central leaders of the RSP, is in Bhairahawa.
On January 9, 2025, the Kaski District Court ordered Lamichhane’s release on a bail of Rs 6.5 million in the Suryadarshan Cooperative case, while on January 15, the Kathmandu District Court ordered his release on a bail of Rs 6 million in the Swarnalaxmi Cooperative fraud case.
