KATHMANDU, Sept 12: Pushpa Maharjan has been given the responsibility of Acting Chairman of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Ward No. 16.
According to the metropolis, he was given the responsibility of the acting chairman by the decision of Mayor Balendra Shah on Monday.

On Monday, Maharjan was recommended as the acting ward chairman from the meeting of the ward committee.
After the untimely death of Ward Chairman Mukunda Rijal on September 7, the post of chairman became vacant.
