RASUWA, July 4: Investigation has been launched to determine how a Korean organization managed to sneak some earthquake affected children from Rasuwa illegally to Kathmandu.

According to District Administration Officer Shivaram Gelal, the office is coordinating with other agencies for rescuing the kids.

He said that the office has been informed only about three children from a camp and that they know nothing about nine others who have disappeared from Dandagaun and one from Haku.

One month ago, members of Korean Christian Association had taken away some children from temporary shelters at Dandagaun and Nesing of Haku to a Nakkhu-based child shelter, Our Home, promising to take good care of them. But the Korean organization flouted the law while bringing the children to Kathmandu as it did not inform the District Child Welfare Committee as is mandatory.

"Officials from the central office of Child Welfare Committee have already visited Our Home, which is run by the Korean Christian Association," said the committee's officer Bhagwati Poudel.

After finding the kids in good environment, the team decided to counsel the parents before removing the kids from the shelter. "Had the place been unsafe, we'd have rescued them from there immediately," said Poudel.

The organization has been providing food and shelter to 17 children.

Meanwhile, the police and the administration are clueless about the whereabouts of other missing children.

The Koreans, who took the children from the shelters in Rasuwa, had volunteered for seven days at Betrawati camp.
