KATHMANDU, March 21: President Ram Chandra Paudel has lauded the ongoing efforts aimed at enhancing women's participation and empowerment.
During a meeting with the officials of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs' Association of Nepal (FWEAN) at Sheetal Niwas on Thursday, President Paudel expressed satisfaction over the Federation's initiatives to strengthen women's involvement in the economic sector. He also expressed confidence that FWEAN will continue to work more actively and effectively in the days ahead to promote women’s entrepreneurship and empowerment."Nepali women have made significant contributions in every sphere of Nepal's political, social, economic, and cultural transformations," President Paudel remarked. "That is why our constitution has prioritized inclusion and women's participation in every organ and sector of the state."Extending his best wishes for the successful organization of the 8th International Women Entrepreneurs Trade Fair, scheduled to be held in Kathmandu from March 27 to 31, President Paudel expressed confidence that the event will play a vital role in establishing, promoting, and expanding businesses. He said it would help women become economically self-reliant while contributing to strengthening the national economy. "I believe such fairs are crucial in inspiring new entrepreneurs, helping them gain business experience, and enhancing the knowledge and capacity of women entrepreneurs," he added.
A new approach to empowerment

During the meeting, FWEAN President Shova Gyawali briefed President Paudel about the Federation's ongoing activities and explained the objectives behind organizing the trade fair. Gyawali stressed that women’s empowerment is essential for the country’s overall development, emphasizing that Nepal’s economic strength is closely tied to the empowerment of its women.
FWEAN office bearers and members were also present at the meeting.
