KATHMANDU, Nov 4: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has said any decision to be taken by political parties in the direction of  ending the current stalemate would be acceptable to him.

The state head said this during his meeting with UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the presidential residence, Shital Niwas, Sunday afternoon. He also urged Dahal not to run after the reports that he would take an extraordinary move to end the ingrained crisis in the country. [break]

“Don’t believe in what is being said outside. Without consensus among political parties, I am not going to take any decision,” Dahal, while talking to reporters after the meeting, quoted Yadav as telling him.

According to Dahal, Yadav urged Dahal as the leader of the largest party ( in erstwhile Constituent Assembly) to take an initiative for early consensus.

The president made it clear to Dahal that it would be difficult for him to endorse ordinances related to full budget without the parties first reaching a common understanding in that regard.

On Friday, President Yadav had consulted Dahal, CPN UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal, Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala and United Democratic Madhesi Front Coordinator Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar and pressed them for early consensus.
